Logistics Specialist – LATAM

About the role

Andes Global Trading, a leading frozen and refrigerated food trader in the Americas, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to manage export shipments across Latin America. The specialist will serve as the primary logistics contact for assigned customers and traders, overseeing the full shipment lifecycle from order entry to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned export shipments from order entry through final delivery, providing timely updates on status, bookings, delays, and delivery dates.
• Coordinate product availability, production completion dates, and pickup schedules with suppliers.
• Schedule plant and freezer pickups, inland transportation, drayage, port deliveries, and ocean freight bookings.
• Monitor carrier schedules, documentation, port cut‑offs, sailing dates, transshipments, and final delivery.
• Arrange USDA export inspections, review health certificates, and ensure compliance with destination‑country import regulations.
• Maintain accurate shipment information in SAP and internal tracking systems.
• Control logistics costs, identifying and minimizing expenses such as detention, demurrage, storage, and missed appointments.
• Collaborate with documentation teams, carriers, ocean lines, warehouses, and service providers to resolve operational issues.
• Escalate delays, regulatory concerns, documentation discrepancies, and additional costs to traders and management.
• Confirm final delivery and close shipment records.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in logistics, preferably in export or international freight management.
• Strong knowledge of USDA export inspection requirements and international import regulations.
• Proven ability to communicate proactively with customers, traders, carriers, and internal teams.

Required skills

• SAP for shipment tracking and data management.
