Medical Biller & Coder (Remote – Colombia)

About the role

This remote position supports outpatient mental health centers by providing accurate medical billing and coding services. The contractor works from Colombia on an Amazon Workstation, aligning with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation to ensure completeness before billing.
• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes and enter charges into the billing system.
• Submit claims, resolve rejections, and support denial management.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance details prior to claim submission.
• Maintain audit‑ready records and communicate documentation gaps to the team lead.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience, preferably in outpatient mental health.
• Professional coding certification (CPC or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to follow defined workflows and meet productivity standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CPT, ICD-10‑CM, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience using EHR or medical billing platforms for charge entry.
• Familiarity with U.S. insurance, Medicaid, and managed‑care billing processes.
• Work within a secure Amazon Workstation (AWS virtual workstation) environment.
