Part-Time Tax & Accounting Consultant – Colombia

About the role

Our client, a US‑based CFO advisory firm, is preparing for a fundraising round and needs clean, investor‑ready financials for its Colombian entity. This short‑term, part‑time consulting engagement (1–2 months) will bridge the language and terminology gap between the US leadership and the local accounting team in Medellín.

Key responsibilities

• Review and decode existing Colombian accounting records, understanding transaction rationale.
• Translate tax and accounting context between Spanish‑speaking accountants and English‑speaking executives.
• Assess compliance of current accounting treatments with Colombian tax law and standard practice.
• Identify and flag any discrepancies related to land tax, social security contributions, payroll taxes, and other agricultural‑specific obligations.
• Prepare the financial books for investor due diligence, enabling the CFO to answer questions confidently.
• Work onsite in Medellín during the initial weeks to collaborate directly with the local team.
• Provide regular, structured summaries to US leadership.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Colombian tax law and corporate/agricultural accounting.
• Fluent in English (written and oral) to act as a bilingual bridge.
• Auditor or controller mindset with the ability to quickly make sense of unknown books.
• Based in Colombia and able to work onsite in or near Medellín.
• Comfortable communicating complex accounting and tax topics to senior stakeholders.
