Performance Engineer

About the role

Join the Performance team at Enertis Applus+ to develop tools, models, and simulations that predict the behavior of photovoltaic projects. The role supports the US offices while being based in Mexico or Colombia.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct solar resource studies and perform calculations related to weather, shadows, and other project‑specific factors.
• Generate production estimates for solar energy projects using industry‑leading software tools.
• Create typical meteorological years and work with specialized databases.
• Analyze and clean meteorological data.
• Independently review third‑party models and compare them with operational plant data.
• Perform data analysis of operating plants and validate model performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics; a Master’s in renewable energy is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in the photovoltaic sector or related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of PV technology.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
