About the role
We are looking for a Physics expert to work remotely on a short‑term contract. You will design and solve challenging physics problems that are used to evaluate large language models (LLMs). The role starts immediately and runs for 11 weeks.
Key responsibilities
- Design and solve advanced physics problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
- Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning and visual explanations.
- Collaborate with LLM researchers to define new evaluation tasks ranging from undergraduate to PhD level.
- Analyze complex physics problems using a logical, structured approach.
- Explain physics concepts in simple language, supported by visuals and reasoning.
Required profile
- Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and creative problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written communication and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: QuTiP, OQuPy, QuSpin, TenPy, Strawberry Fields, openEMS, ngspice, Quantum ESPRESSO, OpenFOAM, FEniCS/FEniCSx (DOLFINx), WarpX, REBOUND, PYTHIA, Kwant, Elmer FEM, GF180MCU PDK, Sky130 PDK, FreeCAD, Project Chrono, Scilab Xcos, volare, emcee, Icarus Verilog, GTKWave, Verilator, gmsh, pyarmadillo, MeshLab.
What we offer
- Compensation of $450 per approved task.
- Fully remote work with a required 8‑hour day and 4‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
