Project Manager Risk & Independence

About the role

The Risk & Independence Project Manager delivers enterprise initiatives that strengthen professional independence, risk management, regulatory compliance and the related business processes and technology. The role partners with Risk & Independence leaders, Legal, Compliance, Technology, Data, the PMO and business stakeholders to turn policy and regulatory requirements into executable projects, controls, workflows and measurable outcomes. It is a manager-level position combining disciplined project delivery with governance, stakeholder coordination and change leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Risk & Independence initiatives (process, policy, data, controls, technology, operating model), from assessment and requirements to implementation, adoption and transition to operations.
• Translate policies and regulations into business requirements, workflows, controls, role expectations and evidence needs, keeping requirements, decisions and controls traceable and audit-ready.
• Own the integrated project plan, milestones, workstreams, dependencies, critical path and delivery commitments, coordinating cross-functional contributors across U.S., LATAM, EMEA, GDC and vendor teams.
• Coordinate technology, data and integration work with product owners, architects, security, data, testing and operations teams, including testing, release readiness, cutover and handoff.
• Build alignment among leadership, Legal, Compliance, Technology, PMO, business sponsors and regional stakeholders, and support training, communications and adoption measurement.
• Manage the project budget, forecast, resource plan and burn rate, and coordinate resource demand and capacity.
• Maintain RAID reporting, drive mitigation and recovery plans, escalate decision points and track actions to closure.
• Produce standardized status reports, prepare materials for stage gates and steering committees, and keep complete project records for audit or regulatory review.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7-10 years of project or program management experience in an enterprise environment, with responsibility for complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience delivering risk, independence, compliance, regulatory, governance, legal-technology or operating-model transformation initiatives.
• Experience within formal PMO governance, financial controls, executive reporting and audit or compliance-oriented environments.
• English B2+.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of governance, risk and compliance concepts, control design, evidence management, issue remediation and audit readiness.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, GRC platforms, workflow tools or comparable solutions.
• Experience coordinating vendors and geographically distributed delivery teams, including GDC resources.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, Prosci, CRISC, CISA or a comparable certification is preferred but not required.
