QA Engineer - Airport Management System

About the role

Amadeus is hiring a QA Engineer for its Airport Management System (AMS) team, which delivers solutions for airport schedule, flight and resource management. The role sits within a full-stack development and testing position, with a hybrid setup at the Bogota office.

Key responsibilities

• Define the test strategy and test plan with functional and non-functional test cases, ensuring traceability to specifications and customer requirements, and keeping it aligned with CI/CD, Green IT and quality guidelines (ISTQB).
• Prepare test environments and data, run test cases, and give go/no-go sign-off on features against exit criteria.
• Keep regression and CI/CD test suites up to date as new features arrive, and investigate and test bug fixes during maintenance.
• Decide what to automate, contribute to the automation framework, and manage defects with severity levels and go/no-go on production defects.
• Report test activity and milestones to developers, product analysts and stakeholders, and mentor newcomers and share knowledge.
• Act as a quality assurance ambassador, promote QA best practices and propose continuous improvement of quality processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience, including mentoring others.
• Experience with Jira, Scrum and Agile; knowledge of the Amadeus business is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in automation testing and familiarity with Git.
• Advantageous: Jenkins, Octane, Confluence, Selenium, NoSQL (Couchbase), OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and the travel domain (airline and airport).
