Research Strategist – Customer Insights

About the role

The Research Strategist joins Slalom’s Research & Insights practice to blend quantitative rigor with qualitative depth. You will design and execute research that uncovers what customers think, do, and need, and turn those insights into actionable strategies for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Select and justify research methods across quantitative and qualitative approaches, designing surveys with rigorous question architecture, scale selection, skip logic, and sample design.
• Define research questions, hypotheses, and success criteria aligned with business outcomes.
• Design, field, and analyze surveys end‑to‑end, including segmentation, cross‑tabs, and significance testing.
• Lead qualitative fieldwork such as focus groups, in‑depth interviews, and ethnographic studies, providing interpretive insight beyond raw data.
• Synthesize findings across methods into a cohesive insight narrative that integrates behavioral, attitudinal, and market data.
• Translate research findings into prioritized, outcome‑focused strategic recommendations and client‑facing deliverables like journey maps, experience diagnostics, and personas.

• Excellent communication skills to connect insight to decision, decision to strategy, and strategy to action.
