Senior Accountant – Financial Controller

About the role

Highwinds is looking for a senior finance professional to lead the entire finance function across a growing portfolio of consumer‑lending lead generation companies. You will own all accounting processes, from weekly invoicing to month‑end close, while partnering directly with the Founder & CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Run weekly invoicing for lender‑buyer clients and manage end‑to‑end accounts receivable, including aging and collections.
• Oversee weekly payments to vendors, publishers and partners.
• Own the full accounting cycle for multiple entities and maintain records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes and prepare financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets and cash‑flow projections.
• Deliver KPI dashboards and unit‑economics analysis by buyer, publisher and product line.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment processors.
• Partner with Compliance on SOC 2 readiness, financial controls and audit support.
• Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors and auditors as needed.
• Identify and implement automation and workflow improvements across the accounting stack.
• Support finance and accounting needs for newly launched entities and business lines.
• Serve as a key operational partner to the Founder & CEO and leadership team.
• Help establish and lead finance operations in Latin America as the company expands.

Required profile

• 4+ years of progressive accounting, finance or controllership experience.
• Experience supporting U.S.-based SaaS, fintech, marketplace or recurring‑revenue businesses.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Deep experience with QuickBooks Online as the primary accounting system.
• Proven track record managing high‑volume invoicing and payment operations.
• Solid FP&A, financial reporting and business analysis capabilities.
• Experience working across multiple legal entities or business units.
• Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced, high‑ownership startup environment.
