Senior Accountant – Real Estate & QuickBooks Online

About the role

Howard Financial is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with deep real‑estate accounting expertise. You will own the month‑end close for multiple property and development entities, work independently, and support investor and lender reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process for several real‑estate entities.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate general‑ledger records across property and holding companies.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle intercompany transactions, eliminations, and job‑costing/project accounting.
• Assist with investor reporting, lender reporting, and draw requests.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and deadlines.
• Collaborate with external CPAs, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of overall accounting experience, including at least 2 years in real‑estate accounting.
• Prior experience at a Senior Accountant or Junior Controller level.
• Hands‑on, practical real‑estate accounting experience with the ability to own month‑end close end‑to‑end.
• Strong organizational skills and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and proactively manage multiple entities.
