Senior Analyst, Commercial Finance

About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst supports financial planning, performance reporting and decision-making for assigned business and client groups. The role prepares timely, accurate financial insights, analyzes revenue, costs, profitability and variances, and partners with stakeholders to improve business performance. It is an experienced individual contributor with no direct people-management responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Client servicing: analyze revenue, costs, margins and profitability for clients and business leaders, prepare clear financial insights and respond promptly to stakeholder questions
• Identify financial risks, opportunities and practical actions to improve performance
• Prepare recurring month-end management reports and performance dashboards for business units
• Develop Excel and PowerPoint analyses for business reviews, forecasts and financial presentations
• Support annual budgets, periodic forecasts and long-range financial plans, and analyze actual results against budget, forecast and prior periods
• Build and maintain financial models for revenue, staffing, operating costs and profitability, and monitor key performance indicators
• Improve forecast accuracy and financial discipline, and prepare management reporting packages and commentary for financial reviews
• Support business cases, pricing analyses, investment evaluations and scenario planning, and validate the completeness and reasonableness of financial data
• Coordinate with Accounting on close results and resolve material reporting differences, and take part in process-improvement and financial-system initiatives
• Share financial knowledge and tools with colleagues, guide junior team members and work closely with Finance, Accounting and business teams

Required profile

• Well organized, with excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, sound judgment and attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experienced individual contributor; perfect alignment with every qualification is not required
