Senior Android Engineer

About the role

Instaleap is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of its native Android applications. You will work on high‑scale retail and logistics platforms, shaping mobile architecture and delivering reliable, performant experiences to users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of Android apps using Kotlin, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Propose and implement technical improvements, tools, and processes to keep the mobile stack cutting‑edge.
• Mentor senior and mid‑level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers via Figma to translate complex designs into fluid mobile interfaces.
• Own the full lifecycle of releases, including publishing and version management on Google Play Store.
• Conduct and lead code reviews, modernize legacy code, and enforce clean‑code standards.
• Work with product teams to assess technical feasibility and influence mobile product direction.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in native Android development with Kotlin.
• Proven track record of publishing and maintaining apps on Google Play Store.
• Strong grasp of software design patterns, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and clean‑code practices.
• Hands‑on experience with design hand‑off tools, especially Figma.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines for mobile (GitHub Actions; Bitrise is a plus).
• Technical leadership and a passion for mentoring.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems independently.
• Upper‑intermediate English (B2) for effective communication.
• Experience with Firebase services (Realtime Database, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, etc.).
