Senior Android Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking an experienced Senior Android Engineer to join its Mobile Team working on a leading global retail platform. You will help build and maintain a top‑rated native Android application while collaborating with multi‑national teams across desktop, mobile web, iOS and Android streams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support a next‑generation native Android application.
• Contribute to architecture and implementation of new features for a large mobile portal.
• Integrate third‑party libraries, services and components.
• Ensure compliance with Android design patterns, coding conventions and Google Play policies.
• Optimize networking, local data caching and multitasking performance.
• Collaborate in Agile processes with local and remote team members.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced developers.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams across iOS, Mobile Web and Desktop streams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Android App Components and UI frameworks.
• Proficiency with Android developer tools and workflows.
• Solid understanding of Android design patterns, coding conventions and Google Play Developer Program policies.
• Experience with networking, local data caching and multitasking on Android.
• Familiarity with third‑party libraries and services.
• Competency in AI‑assisted coding and adoption of AI tools.
• Effective communication in English (minimum B2 level) and ability to work in a dynamic, mixed‑location team.
