Senior Contracts Attorney

About the role

Gallagher is seeking a Senior Contracts Attorney to shape and manage the commercial agreements that support its North American businesses. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to draft, negotiate, and finalize a variety of contracts while providing practical legal advice.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and finalize vendor, client, partnership, consulting services, marketing and other commercial agreements in English.
• Identify and mitigate legal and business risks related to privacy, data security, HIPAA, GDPR, intellectual property, bankruptcy and regulatory matters.
• Partner with business leads, managers and legal colleagues on strategic and commercial initiatives.
• Provide clear guidance on contract interpretation, dispute points and broader legal issues.
• Support improvements in contract data metrics, reporting and automation.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating and interpreting agreements for US and Canadian companies or law firms.
• Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent).
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to explain contract terms and legal risk clearly.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with minimal direction.

Required skills

• Experience with contract lifecycle management systems such as Ironclad, DocuSign or iCertis.
• Proficiency in using business context to assess contract structures.
