Senior Data Engineer – AWS Cloud Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development and operation of our AWS‑based data platform. The role works closely with analytics engineers, data scientists and application developers to deliver reliable, cost‑efficient data pipelines and business‑facing analytical models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS using Glue, Redshift, Athena and S3.
• Orchestrate large‑scale data workflows with Apache Airflow, including multi‑environment DAG management.
• Develop and optimise data warehouse solutions and analytical models using dbt, Spark and SQL.
• Implement lakehouse storage on S3 with Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake and manage Glue Data Catalog and Lake Formation permissions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using CodeBuild, Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure data security, scalability and high availability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or cloud data platforms, primarily on AWS.
• Proven ability to deliver production‑grade data solutions and enforce FinOps discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset and experience working with data scientists and developers.

Required skills

• AWS Glue (PySpark), Redshift, Athena, S3, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, IAM.
• Apache Airflow DAG development and scheduling.
• dbt, Apache Spark, SQL.
• Python programming, including PySpark.
• Lakehouse technologies such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodeBuild (nice to have).
