Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

An experienced Senior Accountant is sought to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying clients' financial transactions. The role combines analytical skills and knowledge of accounting principles to analyse financial reports and forecasts, and includes leading a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Analyse financial information and summarise financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers
• Take part in financial standards setting and the forecast process, and give input to department goal setting
• Prepare financial statements and budgets on schedule, assist with tax audits and returns, and direct internal and external audits
• Plan, assign and review staff's work, and support month-end and year-end close
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies, and liaise with the Financial Manager and Accounting Manager

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, chief or senior accountant
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
• Relevant certification such as CMA or CPA preferred
• Conversational English proficiency preferred

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP
• General ledger functions and month-end/year-end close
• Accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Advanced Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
