Senior Murex Engineer – Capital Markets

About the role

GFT is looking for a Senior Murex Engineer to join a strategic Capital Markets programme for a leading global banking client. The role focuses on designing, configuring and delivering enterprise‑grade MX.3 solutions across multiple functional domains.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration and implementation of Murex MX.3 solutions.
• Drive complex integration initiatives, including interfaces, Datamart optimisation and batch processing.
• Produce solution designs, technical specifications, data flow diagrams and architecture documentation.
• Mentor junior Murex engineers and promote best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects and project managers to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Lead technical reviews, release readiness assessments and quality‑assurance activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement long‑term fixes.
• Identify technical risks, propose mitigation strategies and contribute to engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5‑9 years of hands‑on experience with Murex MX.3.
• Strong background delivering Capital Markets solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Finance, Mathematics or related field.
• Deep functional knowledge in at least two of: Front Office Trading, Market Risk, Settlement, Collateral Management, Accounting.
• Experience leading technical workstreams and mentoring engineers.
