Senior SDET - Mobile and Web Automation

About the role

An embedded role within an agile product team building a learner-facing study experience across iOS, Android and web. You will own the team's quality practice alongside product and engineering, helping move end-to-end test suites into the application repositories and keeping them healthy. The position is 100% remote from LATAM.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and engineers to define test strategy and plans for features
• Maintain and extend Playwright end-to-end test suites as they move into the application code repositories
• Build and maintain smoke test suites that act as quality gates in CI/CD pipelines
• Fix test breakage caused by browser updates, locator changes and similar shifts
• Coach engineers on what to test, how to test it and good testing practices
• Help grow unit and integration test coverage for faster, cheaper feedback
• Act as the go-to person for how features should work, find bugs and, where possible, help fix them
• Explore AI-assisted approaches to improve the testing practice

Required profile

• Senior-level experience in quality engineering or test automation with strong hands-on coding skills
• Experience testing modern web applications, ideally built with React or Next.js
• Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android
• Ability to design test strategy across a full feature and explain it clearly to engineers and product partners
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in an agile team; ownership mindset and willingness to teach others

Required skills

• Strong experience with Playwright and TypeScript for end-to-end automation
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
• Preferred: API and integration testing, unit testing practices and frameworks, K6 for performance testing, accessibility testing tools such as Evinced, synthetic monitoring such as New Relic
