Senior Software Engineer (Cloud / Java / Python)

About the role

EPAM is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and build cloud‑native backend services using Java, Python and micro‑service architectures. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with architects, product owners, QA and DevOps teams to deliver high‑quality REST APIs and modern cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and micro‑services.
• Implement and enhance RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Work with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including architects, product owners, QA engineers and DevOps.
• Review code, troubleshoot issues, debug defects and optimise application performance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and promote engineering best practices.
• Create technical documentation and share knowledge within the team.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and delivery planning.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to increase productivity.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java and Python development.
• Hands‑on experience with micro‑services architecture and REST API design.
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies and cloud‑native development.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
