Senior Software Engineer – Machine Learning

About the role

Fusemachines is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Machine Learning to design, build, and deploy high‑performance ML systems. The role is fully remote and involves working across the entire ML lifecycle, from massive data processing to low‑latency model serving.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data engineering and feature pipelines using SQL, Python, Spark, and Ray.
• Architect offline and online feature stores, ensuring zero skew between training and serving data.
• Perform rigorous data quality checks, including missingness analysis and leakage detection.
• Train, tune, and scale supervised models with gradient‑boosting libraries (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost) and Factorization Machines.
• Design and implement deep‑learning architectures for structured and recommendation data using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Build production‑ready inference APIs that meet strict latency and throughput requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a software engineer who has transitioned into applied machine learning.
• Track record of delivering production‑grade ML systems and real‑time APIs.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle terabyte‑scale, sparse datasets.
