Senior System Administrator – Remote (LATAM)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join the infrastructure team of a leading Canadian fintech. The role is fully remote for candidates located in Latin America and works on EST‑aligned hours. You will own critical infrastructure, cloud platforms, and security controls while driving automation and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and support modernization initiatives.
• Lead system upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and backup/disaster‑recovery processes.
• Design and implement infrastructure improvements for reliability and performance.
• Manage identity, access, and security controls across enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and application issues.
• Develop automation scripts and operational tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Monitor system health, address risks proactively, and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Security, Development, DevOps, and IT teams on initiatives.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level administrators and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a System or Infrastructure Administrator.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience working in highly regulated, mission‑critical environments (e.g., fintech, banking).

Required skills

• Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls.
• Microsoft 365 and Active Directory management.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper‑V.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Automation scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation (nice‑to‑have).
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (nice‑to‑have).
• Monitoring tools: Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus (nice‑to‑have).
• CI/CD and DevOps practices (nice‑to‑have).
