Senior/Lead Android Mobile Engineer (Remote, Colombia)

About the role

Blankfactor is looking for a Senior/Lead Android Mobile Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality Android applications. This fully remote, full‑time position is based in Colombia and requires at least B1 English comprehension.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android apps using Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and user‑friendly mobile solutions.
• Define and implement mobile architecture focused on performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Integrate with backend services via GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Implement security features such as deep links, biometric authentication, device security checks, encrypted payloads, and secure local storage.
• Integrate third‑party SDKs, including digital wallet and mobile payment capabilities.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests following test‑driven development.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce quality and security standards, and troubleshoot performance issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Android.
• Proficient in Kotlin and experienced in Java for legacy modules.
• Solid experience with Android Studio, Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Gradle.
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative cross‑functional teams.
