Server Virtualization Engineer

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Server Virtualization Engineer to lead infrastructure and file‑server migration projects in an IT M&A environment. The role combines deep expertise in VMware‑based virtualized environments with hands‑on execution of data and file migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support VMware virtualized environments across production and non‑production systems.
• Plan, execute, and validate infrastructure and file‑server migrations, including discovery, migration, and post‑migration support.
• Perform data migrations using tools such as Robocopy, RClone, and PowerShell scripts.
• Manage Windows file servers, NTFS permissions, and Windows shares.
• Support Active Directory and Azure AD/Entra ID activities related to access and migrations.
• Collaborate with networking, security, cloud, and third‑party teams to ensure migration readiness.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Participate in technical meetings and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Strong English communication skills (minimum B2 level).
• Proven experience in VMware and Windows Server administration.
• Hands‑on experience with on‑premise datacenter environments and file/data migrations.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks end‑to‑end.
