Settlement Negotiator

About the role

The Personal Injury Settlement Negotiator will manage and negotiate the settlement of personal injury claims before they proceed to litigation. This position requires strong communication, negotiation abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

Key responsibilities

• Review case facts, including medical records, police reports, witness statements, and other relevant documents.
• Assess case strengths and weaknesses to determine the optimal settlement strategy.
• Engage with insurance companies, opposing counsel, or other parties to reach fair settlements.
• Present evidence and arguments to justify the compensation sought for the client.
• Counter offers and resolve any remaining disputes related to the settlement agreement.
• Ensure settlements cover medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
• Obtain expert reports to substantiate claims and maximize settlement value.
• Estimate potential compensation based on injuries, damages, and liability.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of legal experience, specifically in personal injury.
• 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel for complex spreadsheets.
• 1+ years of office experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience with case management software.
