Software Engineer Specialist

About the role

ScotiaTech, the technology hub of Scotiabank in Bogota, is looking for a Software Engineer Specialist to join the Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) team. You will help build and enhance capital‑markets products and analytics platforms in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with end users and business partners to gather requirements, perform gap analysis and design solutions.
• Partner with Architecture to integrate new components and deliver production‑quality code.
• Own the full software lifecycle: specifications, coding, testing, deployment and production support.
• Design and implement database schemas, automated test suites and deployment scripts using the Accelerator pipeline.
• Refactor legacy code, improve user experience, and run SCRUM ceremonies as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Java 17 and J2EE.
• 3‑5 years with Spring Framework, Spring Boot and Spring Integration.
• Strong experience with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Proven ability to work in Agile teams and communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
