Staff Accountant

About the role

The Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Supervisor in daily and monthly accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and IFRS. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record transactions, reconcile accounts, and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month‑end and year‑end close.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform bank and key account reconciliations.
• Assist in updating accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Participate in audits, budgeting, forecasting, and other special projects.
• Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standards.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (B2+ oral and written).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
