Structural Engineer

About the role

Arup is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Bogota. You will contribute to the design and optimisation of complex building and infrastructure structures, ensuring compliance with local codes and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review structural drawings, 3D models and calculations.
• Prepare clear technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and professionals across disciplines for integrated project delivery.
• Support project administration to keep execution on schedule.
• Participate in client meetings to present concepts and address technical challenges.
• Work under the mentorship of a Senior Engineer on defined project tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in structural design and review of buildings and infrastructure.
• Professional Engineering License preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Experience with BIM tools, especially Revit.
• Knowledge of parametric design.
• Programming skills in Python, JavaScript or Matlab.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM Concept, IDEA StatiCa.
