Transport Assistant

About the role

The Transport Assistant supports the efficient operation of the United Nations Verification Mission's vehicle fleet in Bogota. Working closely with maintenance contractors and mission personnel, the role ensures compliance with UN rules, the Surface Transport Manual, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, bodywork, painting and specialized servicing across multiple contracted workshops.
• Issue and track Service Request Orders, ensuring timely execution of scheduled maintenance.
• Monitor quality and compliance of mechanical, electrical and body repairs performed by vendors.
• Prepare, verify and process Damage Discrepancy Reports (DDR) for vehicle incidents.
• Perform Electronic Vehicle Monitoring (EVM) functions and support fleet performance tracking.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service history, insurance documentation and inspections.
• Ensure timely renewal of vehicle insurance, techno‑mechanical inspections and other mandatory compliance documents.
• Coordinate accident follow‑up actions, including insurance processing and vehicle recovery.
• Support road‑safety awareness campaigns and driver testing processes for mission personnel.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating vehicle fleet maintenance and repairs.
• Familiarity with UN surface transport regulations and contractual procedures.
• Ability to prepare accurate technical and financial documentation for audit purposes.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance contracts and vendor performance.
