Transport Network Engineer

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Transport Network Engineer to join its growing team in Colombia. You will be responsible for the operational health of telecommunications infrastructure, working on network monitoring, incident management and service continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor network and service platforms, detect and classify alarms, and assess impact on customers and infrastructure.
• Execute first‑level troubleshooting, manage the full incident lifecycle, and validate service restoration.
• Support scheduled maintenance windows, operational changes and post‑change health checks while ensuring compliance with standards and security requirements.
• Communicate incident status to customers and stakeholders, maintain detailed shift logs and participate in handovers.
• Identify recurring incidents, propose automation opportunities and keep operational documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in network operations, NOC or telecommunications maintenance.
• Strong understanding of transport network platforms and ability to perform initial fault diagnosis.
• Proven experience handling incident tickets, following escalation procedures and collaborating with L2/L3 support teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, accurate record‑keeping and adherence to SLA and KPI targets.
• Effective communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
