Water Treatment Operator I

About the role

The Water Treatment Operator I will support the operation of a wastewater treatment plant, ensuring safe and efficient water purification under close supervision. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with plant equipment and exposure to environmental, health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Regulate the flow of raw water into the treatment plant by operating electric motors, pumps and valves.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the wastewater area.
• Assist with start‑up, shut‑down and continuous monitoring of pre‑treatment and wastewater processes.
• Learn production outcomes, quantity and quality targets to meet environmental and food‑safety specifications.
• Participate in discussions with EHS, food‑safety, quality and regulatory teams to implement safety policies.
• Support compliance with employee, environmental and food‑safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of wastewater treatment concepts.
• Willingness to work under frequent guidance and learn on the job.
• Commitment to follow safety, quality and regulatory procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of electric motors, pumps and valve systems.
