Accountant – Hybrid, Bogotá

About the role

Monks Technology Services is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team in Bogotá. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site collaboration with remote flexibility, and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records while supporting month‑end and year‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Prepare and review monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, suppliers, customers, and ledger accounts.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax filings.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, including accruals, adjustments, and reporting.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting by providing timely financial data.
• Collaborate with external auditors, preparing schedules and documentation.
• Monitor internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional ethics and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks.
