Accounting Lead – Record to Report (R2R)

About the role

EPAM is seeking an Accounting Lead – Record to Report (R2R) to strengthen its finance function. You will own accounting integrity, control processes, and operational delivery across a portfolio of entities or a critical accounting workstream.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee execution of the monthly close calendar, ensuring all critical activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review and approve journal postings, accruals, reconciliations, and variance narratives prepared by staff accountants.
• Serve as escalation point for posting errors, close-cycle obstacles, interface breakdowns, and judgment‑based accounting decisions.
• Maintain alignment with internal control requirements, SOX standards, and documented close methodologies.
• Direct reconciliation activities between source systems and SAP, resolving material discrepancies.
• Collaborate with local controllers, accounting teams, AP, treasury, tax, and other partners on close topics and process changes.
• Act as the accounting function’s point of contact during internal and external audit engagements.
• Support development of junior accountants through review and coaching.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and assess new tools, reports, and workflow solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting with Colombian Public Accountant credentials.
• At least five years of finance experience in General Ledger, record‑to‑report, financial reporting, and audit, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with ability to apply them to complex situations.
• Proven experience managing process oversight, driving improvements, and optimizing workflows.
• Effective communication skills and English proficiency at B2 level or above.
