AI Software Engineer – Remote

About the role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer across its workflow. As an AI Software Engineer you will own and ship internal automation systems, turning documented road‑maps into production‑ready solutions. This is a builder role focused on engineering, not research.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools that reduce manual hours in design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines linking WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and the internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of the broader AI stack.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English proficiency sufficient for asynchronous written collaboration with a US‑based team.
