Android Software Engineer – Kotlin & Jetpack Compose

About the role

EPAM is looking for an Android Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance native Android applications using a Kotlin‑first stack. You will work closely with UI/UX designers, product owners, and backend teams to deliver high‑quality, user‑friendly mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance native Android apps with Kotlin.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive screens following Material Design.
• Integrate apps with backend microservices via RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Create unit and UI tests (JUnit, Espresso) to ensure stability.
• Monitor and optimise app performance, battery usage, and memory consumption.
• Prepare and release updates to the Google Play Store.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on native Android development experience.
• Strong command of Kotlin and solid understanding of the Android SDK.
• Familiarity with modern architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger) and Coroutines/Flow.
• Proficiency with Android Studio, Gradle, and Git.
• Practical experience building UI with Jetpack Compose or XML layouts.
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment and use tools like Jira and Confluence.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
