Associate Site Activation Manager – Clinical Research

About the role

The Associate Site Activation Manager (SAM) joins IQVIA’s Global Site Activation (GSL) team to lead the start‑up phase of clinical trials. Working remotely, the SAM designs and implements activation strategies from award through site opening, ensuring timely delivery against scope and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in pre‑award and defense meetings, providing start‑up expertise for project strategy.
• Develop site activation delivery plans post‑award, outlining site identification, regulatory, contract and start‑up timelines across multiple countries.
• Oversee execution of the global activation strategy, monitoring site delivery, budget, and scope while proactively managing risks.
• Communicate regularly with clients, project managers, clinical leads, regulatory specialists and other stakeholders on site status, activation projections and opportunities.
• Represent the country site activation operations team to internal project members and external sponsors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
• 5–7 years of global experience in a clinical research environment.
• Proven leadership ability to manage multi‑cultural project teams.
• Strong project ownership with a track record of delivering on time, within scope and budget.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of clinical trial start‑up processes, including regulatory, contract and site activation activities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance competing priorities.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and external sponsors.
