Backend Engineer (Kotlin) – Remote, Colombia

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer with strong Kotlin and AI experience to join our fintech platform that powers the lending marketplace. In this remote position based in Colombia, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services that enable financial products and integrations while shaping the system architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin (Java experience accepted).
• Leverage AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on backend architecture, infrastructure improvements, and technical discussions.
• Support platform scalability initiatives and ensure reliable, high‑performance backend systems for financial services.
• Participate in system design and contribute to the evolution of distributed services.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong background in backend development and building infrastructure services.
• 2–3+ years of hands‑on experience with Kotlin.
• Proven ability to work with Java and understand distributed system architecture.
• Effective collaboration skills within cross‑functional engineering teams.
