Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Grip is seeking a Backend Engineer with 3‑4+ years of experience to design, build, and maintain the server‑side systems that power its cold‑chain logistics platform. You will work on scalable APIs, data pipelines, and core services that enable real‑time inventory tracking, batch traceability, and seamless integration with eCommerce platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Write clean, testable, and well‑documented code.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and manage relational and/or NoSQL database schemas and queries.
• Build and maintain integrations with third‑party services and internal systems.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for backend systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ship features end‑to‑end.

Required profile

• 3–4+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js, C#, Ruby).
• Solid experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs (GraphQL a plus).
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
