Business Intelligence and Data Analyst Internship

About the role

BNP Paribas is looking for a Business Intelligence and Data Analyst intern in Bogotá, reporting to the General Manager of Sales. The role helps build a more scalable and efficient operating model by integrating data, automation and AI-driven tools into trading and operational workflows, and aims to transform the FX/Trades desk by automating manual processes and reducing operational risk.

Key responsibilities

• Help develop and automate current and prospective reports, and document critical processes
• Automate repeatable tasks such as booking, validation, reconciliation, report generation and control checks
• Analyze market and client data to surface trends and opportunities, and turn insights into actionable recommendations for trading and sales teams
• Design, test and deploy AI-driven assistants, alert generators and basic predictive models, and implement LLM-based tools such as chat assistants and auto-generated confirmations
• Document senior traders' pricing logic, risk controls and execution practices, and drive a knowledge-sharing initiative
• Identify quick-win automation opportunities, measure their impact and replace the Sales analyst on daily tasks when absent

Required profile

• Student in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business Analytics, Project Management or a related field
• 0-2 years of professional experience in software or automation development, data engineering, data analysis, data pipelines or business analysis projects
• Medium level of English

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Python and SQL
• Familiarity with RPA tools or ability to write robust scripts and macros
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts (LLMs, basic predictive modelling)
• Basic Git knowledge
