Category Management Manager

About the role

Diageo is seeking a Category Management Manager to drive category growth in Colombia by leading in‑store execution strategy and collaborating with key customers and commercial teams. The role focuses on optimal assortment, shelving and education to ensure Diageo’s brands win at the point of sale.

Key responsibilities

• Build collaborative processes and Joint Business Plans with key customers to embed category growth drivers.
• Develop and update in‑store execution strategies aligned to shopper behavior, including assortment, merchandising, pricing, promotion and planogram execution.
• Manage category data, conduct assortment analysis, and create planograms using Spacesman and other tools.
• Monitor in‑store performance (share of shelf, visibility KPIs) using audits, sell‑out data, dunnhumby and NielsenIQ, and recommend corrective actions.
• Work closely with Channel & Category Development, Shopper Marketing and Sales to translate growth strategies into actionable guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of Category Management experience with key retailers in Colombia (e.g., Grupo Éxito, Olímpica, Oxxo).
• Experience in Trade Marketing or sales with strong knowledge of point‑of‑sale strategy.
• Proven ability to analyze sales performance indicators and manage multiple projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SPACESMAN, Spacesplanning, Nielsen and dunnhumby tools.
• Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
