Chief Finance Officer (CFO) – Remote, Colombia-based

About the role

We are looking for a senior finance leader to steer the financial strategy of our organization from Colombia. The Chief Finance Officer will work remotely, supporting U.S.-based reporting, compliance and international stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, capital structure design and cash‑flow management.
• Analyse liabilities, investments and risks to inform executive decisions.
• Develop short‑ and long‑term financial strategies aligned with growth objectives.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, tax returns and audit‑ready reports.
• Manage forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and guide external fundraising efforts.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. reporting regulations, international tax codes and local audit requirements.
• Assess operational efficiencies and recommend restructuring or cost‑saving measures.
• Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on strategy, planning and operational priorities.
• Monitor finance KPIs and lead FP&A activities.
• Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team in a remote environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate finance or executive financial leadership.
• At least 5 years supporting or operating within U.S.-based finance environments.
• CPA credential preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s in Finance or MBA preferred.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work under a remote contractor agreement; U.S. B1/B2 visa a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros).
• Full Microsoft Office Suite.
• QuickBooks Online (certification preferred).
