Cloud Architect

About the role

EPAM is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to lead VMware‑to‑AWS migration programs for complex enterprise environments. The role combines solution design, technical governance and coordination of multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, stable and cost‑effective cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end solution architecture for VMware to AWS migration projects.
• Define migration strategy, wave planning and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate architects, infrastructure, network, database, security and DevOps engineers.
• Oversee technical execution, ensuring quality, stability and timeline adherence.
• Establish Landing Zone, Disaster Recovery and hybrid connectivity between on‑premises and AWS.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies and mitigation plans.
• Serve as primary technical liaison with clients, vendors and global teams.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, cloud governance and AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture and technology transformation.
• At least 3 years leading AWS migration programs in large enterprises.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, DMS, MongoDB, ECS/ECR, ECS Anywhere, Fargate).
• AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Python scripting.
• Docker containerization.
• Networking: VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Security Groups, Network ACLs.
• Disaster Recovery and hybrid connectivity design.
• FinOps, RPO/RTO planning.
