Cyber Security Specialist – Red Team Operator

About the role

The Red Team Operator is a mid‑level offensive cybersecurity professional responsible for simulating real‑world attacks to assess and improve an organization’s security posture. You will work closely with detection, incident response, and SOC teams to strengthen defenses.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute red‑team engagements using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Conduct offensive activities including reconnaissance, initial access, privilege escalation, credential theft, lateral movement, persistence, defense evasion, command‑and‑control, and post‑exploitation.
• Build, deploy, and maintain red‑team infrastructure (C2 servers, domains, DNS, TLS certificates, cloud resources, VPNs, proxies, payload hosting).
• Develop and customize payloads, scripts, implants, and tools to bypass modern security controls.
• Leverage AI‑enabled workflows and large language models to automate reconnaissance, payload development, attack‑path analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate in purple‑team exercises, analyse detections, and recommend improvements.
• Produce technical reports, executive summaries, and remediation recommendations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in red teaming, penetration testing, adversary emulation, or offensive security.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, Active Directory, enterprise networking, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with identity and authentication systems.
