Data Tech Lead – Latin America

About the role

Cuesta Partners is seeking a Data Technical Lead for Latin America to work with a broad client base, delivering modern data environments quickly, mentoring teams, and shaping the practice’s green‑field initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject‑matter expert in data engineering, providing hands‑on support and guidance.
• Lead architectural discussions, advising on design decisions and trade‑offs.
• Set standards for AI‑augmented development and coach the team on using coding agents effectively.
• Plan, execute, and deliver client‑facing and internal data projects on time and within scope.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
• Serve as data architect for client engagements, designing scalable solutions that meet business needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex).
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.
• Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• SQL, Python, Spark.
• AI‑assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex.
