Director of Software Engineering

About the role

Visa is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead the development of the Visa Direct Alias platform. The role combines strategic leadership with deep technical expertise and a Generative AI‑first mindset to drive modern, cloud‑native product delivery at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a cross‑functional engineering organization responsible for the ADS/Alias platform on Google Cloud Platform.
• Champion GenAI‑first engineering practices to improve development speed, testing, release efficiency and operational workflows.
• Deliver scalable, secure, highly reliable distributed systems that meet business, client and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee product delivery, production reliability, release readiness and operational excellence.
• Advance modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automation, observability, feature flags and safe production rollouts.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, Compliance and Operations to ensure high‑quality solutions and predictable execution.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing team through strong leadership, coaching and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including leadership of large, complex engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering mission‑critical, cloud‑native payment or financial services platforms.
• Strong communication skills to convey engineering strategy, priorities and risks to senior leadership.
