Director, VASS LAC Regional Controllership

About the role

The Director, VASS LAC Regional Controllership leads senior accounting governance for Value Added Services & Solutions across Latin America and the Caribbean. Reporting to the Vice‑President Regional Controller, the role ensures consistent accounting policy application while supporting rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with regional VASS business leaders, FP&A, and product teams as the senior controllership advisor.
• Provide expert guidance on complex accounting matters such as revenue recognition, bundle and fund structures, and gross‑vs‑net assessments.
• Design, implement, and monitor robust front‑ and back‑end controls for VASS activities.
• Ensure compliance with Mastercard accounting policies, SOX requirements, and internal governance standards.
• Identify and remediate risks related to fragmented execution and rapid expansion.
• Act as the primary regional owner for VASS controllership inquiries and resolve issues locally.
• Support delivery of funds, bundles, impairment reviews, and VASS‑specific assessments.
• Collaborate with Corporate Controllership to apply global accounting guidance at the regional level.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in accounting, controllership, or finance within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting policies, SOX compliance, and financial governance.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and drive consistent accounting application.
• Experience supporting fast‑growing product portfolios in Latin America or similar regions.
