Engineering Assistant – Solar PV & Residential/Multifamily (Part‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Engineering Assistant to produce permit‑ready 2D AutoCAD plan sets for residential and multifamily solar PV projects in the United States. The position is fully remote, requires a Colombia‑based candidate, and offers direct exposure to real clean‑energy projects from design through permitting.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and revise complete plan sets, including site plans, roof layouts, one‑line and three‑line diagrams, equipment elevations, and labeling sheets.
• Convert Aurora Solar or Helioscope outputs and site‑survey data into dimensioned, submission‑quality drawings.
• Apply HomEnergy CAD standards (title blocks, layers, blocks, xrefs, viewports, plot styles, PDF publishing).
• Execute redline cycles based on internal review and AHJ/utility comments.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and file‑naming discipline.
• Run QA/QC checks against the drafting checklist before each release.

Required profile

• English proficiency at B2 level (written and spoken) – mandatory.
• Currently enrolled in or within 12 months of completing a program in Electrical, Electromechanical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Drafting/CAD Technology, or a recent graduate.
• Demonstrated 2D AutoCAD proficiency with a portfolio of work.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and architectural drawings.
• Legal residency in Colombia and ability to invoice as an independent contractor.
• Reliable high‑speed internet and a computer capable of running AutoCAD smoothly.

What we offer

• USD $600 per month compensation.
• ~20 hours per week with overlap to U.S. Eastern Time.
