Engineering & Estimating Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering & Estimating Manager to lead our construction project estimation team. The role combines technical expertise in HVAC and plumbing design with strong cost‑control and project management skills to deliver accurate, competitive bids from concept through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering/estimating team to produce precise project estimates.
• Review construction drawings, blueprints and technical documents to define material requirements and scope.
• Use estimating software such as Trimble Autobid to prepare detailed cost proposals.
• Source quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate terms and optimise costs.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and manage material requirement estimations.
• Implement cost‑control measures and monitor cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to clarify scope changes and maintain project alignment.
• Assess risks related to cost overruns or scope changes and apply mitigation strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of estimates, assumptions and methodologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HVAC/plumbing design or estimating teams in commercial or industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.
• Fluent bilingual English (mandatory).
• Extensive knowledge of construction drawing review and technical blueprint interpretation.
• Strong background in construction cost estimation, budgeting and cost control.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Construction site experience is highly desirable.
