Finance Business Partner Analyst

About the role

Mastercard’s Technology Finance team is looking for a Finance Business Partner Analyst to support the software capitalization lifecycle for its internally‑developed software portfolio. The role will work closely with Technology, Finance and Controllership teams to ensure compliance with Mastercard policy and ASC 350‑40.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and document data for software capitalization reviews and compliance testing.
• Assist with governance, statement‑of‑work capitalization, forecast development and related reporting activities.
• Prepare financial reporting and analysis for management, highlighting results, drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and month‑end close through data preparation, variance analysis and reporting.
• Partner with Technology, Product, Program Management, Finance and Controllership to gather information and support capitalization decisions.
• Apply established policies and procedures to assess capitalization eligibility and escalate complex items.
• Identify trends, data issues and process gaps, respond to ad‑hoc financial requests and propose solutions.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives, including automation of data‑handling tasks.

Required profile

• Early‑career finance or accounting professional with strong analytical and detail‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work with large data sets, learn new processes quickly and turn issues into improvement opportunities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to uphold compliance and governance standards.

Required skills

• Understanding of ASC 350‑40 software capitalization accounting guidance.
• Financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Data collection and analysis (e.g., Excel or equivalent).
