Financial Controller – Remote (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting function remotely from Colombia. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the General Ledger, drive the transition from outsourced to in‑house finance, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the General Ledger, maintain the Chart of Accounts, and ensure compliance.
• Manage month‑end close, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the bookkeeping team, reviewing invoices, payroll, and vendor payments.
• Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and coordinate payroll tax, sales tax, and year‑end tax reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial records and enforce internal controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Accountant with full GL ownership.
• Strong background in month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks.
• Experience supervising accounting or bookkeeping teams.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and confidentiality standards.
