Financial Shared Services Manager

About the role

The Financial Shared Services Manager will lead IPA's newly established Shared Services Center in Bogotá, Colombia. Reporting to the Global Finance team, the role builds the centre from the ground up, designs processes, and serves as the primary liaison for country‑office finance teams and headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the Shared Services Center, covering accounts payable, journal entries, intercompany transactions and bank/balance‑sheet reconciliations for all IPA entities.
• Define and monitor service‑level agreements with country offices and headquarters, ensuring timely processing, accuracy and query resolution.
• Collaborate with finance teams to resolve documentation gaps, reconcile discrepancies and support month‑end close and audit requests.
• Identify automation and system‑improvement opportunities, develop performance dashboards and report KPIs to senior finance leadership.
• Recruit, onboard and supervise a team of up to three shared‑services staff, set performance objectives and provide training on accounting procedures and NetSuite.
• Maintain compliance with IPA policies, donor requirements and applicable accounting standards, and ensure proper segregation of duties.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance operations or shared‑services environments, preferably building or scaling a function.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, journal entry processing, intercompany accounting and bank reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team, set objectives and develop talent.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus for local coordination.

• NetSuite (or comparable ERP) – configuration and transaction processing.
